Albums...

I have been asked several times about my wedding albums, particularly what a finished product looks like. I am in the process of putting together a sample album from the new company I have been using, but there are so many combinations of materials, colors, accents, etc., that it would be impossible for me to carry a sample of all options available.

I generally release albums to the customer without having the foresight to photograph the final product. Thank goodness I did get a few images from some recent albums to post as an example of the incredible products Forbeyon offers. So far, I have been extremely pleased with the customer service and the high-end, quality products I have received. I do have a couple of albums on the way, and will post pics of those as well once I receive them.

In the meantime, take a look at this beauty of a wedding album. The bride saw the combination of these colors/materials on the Forbeyon website and fell in love (and the main material on the album is called "Vixen"....love it!):

It is a 10x10 album...

...with flushmount pages...

...so the pages lay flat when opened.

The images are printed on thick, photographic stock.

It is a metal cameo with an image printed on it! These cameos are awesome! And this album also has an accent strip of a contrasting color and material.

These last 2 images are not wedding albums, but rather the ever-so-popular Guest Book Album.  I use images from a couple's engagement session and put them in a hardback, coffee-table-style album for guests to sign at the wedding, instead of the traditional guest album of blank lines that usually ends up stored somewhere, rarely (if ever) to be seen again.

This guest book doubles as a photo album as well, so you can leave it out for everyone to see. I leave blank areas throughout the album for wedding guests to sign and write well-wishes. Fun!

BRITTANY AND BRYANT: The Wedding

What a beautiful day for a wedding! Overcast skies (a photographer's dream) and a small shower helped to cool everyone off (at least a little) last Saturday.

Brittany and Bryant were married at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, followed by a reception at the Jackson Yacht Club. Everything looked perfect, the food was delicious and the day went off without a hitch. They are now back from their honeymoon and I promised Brittany a little preview, so here goes:

Heather and Zach: The Wedding

Heather and Zach were married a couple of weeks ago in Ridgeland and this time I played the role of 2nd shooter to my friend, Renee. Here are just a few of the images I captured.

SADIE: Part 1...

I finally had the opportunity to get some 5 year shots of my sweet Sadie. I cannot believe that she is 5 years old and will be going to kindergarten in a few short weeks. It's bittersweet, really. She is proving to be a very talented, funny, smart, strong and brave little girl. She is my heart.

Here is Part 1 of my Sadie post.  Since I always have such a hard time deciding what to post from client sessions, I should have know it would be practically impossible for me to choose which images to post for Sadie.

S is for Sadie, Summer, Seniors and Soon to be Wed...

Can it really be 6 weeks since my last post??? That goes to show you just how crazy the warm weather makes it around the Gibson household. The month of May alone seemed to fly. Just a little about what has been happening:

Sadie turned 5 and had a positive check-up with her endocrinologist and her pediatrician.  We made our first family trip to Disney World. I have always wondered why people choose to make Disney an annual family event, but after watching Sadie have the time of her life, we are already planning our trip back. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was her favorite event and, if you can believe it or not, the Tower of Terror was her favorite ride. Who knew you only had to be 44 inches to ride! Unfortunately, because it was her favorite, mommy was dragged on it way to much.  We went to Cocoa Beach for a little fun in the sun, too. I want to do as much with Sadie as I can this summer because she starts kindergarten in August and I really don't know where the past 5 years have gone!

At AGP, things have been hopping, as well. The past 2 weeks I have been consumed with playing catch up from my almost month-long vaca.  Putting in orders for wedding and engagement albums have been on the forefront...2 more to go, yay! Unfortunately, between sessions and weddings I haven't found the time to keep the blog updated with fresh sneak peeks or my website calendar updated:(  And not only is wedding season in full swing, I am about to hit the ground running on Senior Sessions.

So, let's start off the summer right with some perks for the Soon to be Wed and Seniors!

Weddings:  Any 2010/2011 wedding booked between today and the end of summer (that's September 21, 2010) will receive a complimentary engagement session and a 2nd photographer the day of the wedding. That is a minimum value of $750. Please note: availability for the remainder of 2010 is very limited and bookings are secured only when deposit has been received and cleared.

Seniors: Any Senior Session booked between today and the end of summer (again, that ending date is September 21, 2010) will receive your choice of a Style Book with my favorite images from your session or a set of Style Cards to hand out to your friends, and a complimentary set of wallets with your portrait order. If you choose to receive the Style Cards and a friend presents your card when booking their own session, you will receive the benefits of a Senior Rep and your friend will receive a complimentary set of wallets with their portrait order.  Please note: sessions booked are secured only by receipt and clearing of session fee, and session must take place prior to January 1, 2011.

The Aftermath...

The fact that I was able to capture the following images just breaks my heart. For those of you who do not know, I am from Yazoo City where a deadly tornado touched down on Saturday. Most of my family is still there. Fortunately, no one in my family was hurt, but the aftermath of what every Yazoo-an is dealing with is incredible. It is hard to take in. The landscape has completely changed. Sadly, there were some deaths and many injuries. The stories are horrific. To pull up to "Four Points", the main intersection as you enter Yazoo City from the south and the area that is shown on the news, and see orange signs that say "Disaster Area" is something  no one wants to see. There is no way to describe it and, honestly, pictures and news reports can not accurately depict the destruction.

What is not being shown on the news are the small surrounding communities that were also hit. Zeiglerville, just northeast of Yazoo City, looks like a warzone. If you don't know, I am a Zeigler, and this is where our family homeplace and farm is located. There are so many people in that area that lost everything. Yazoo County is just not the same. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

I went to my dad's yesterday and just started to cry as I topped the hill into that small community on Hwy 433. There is hardly a tree left on a road that was canopied by them. I thank the Lord that no one was harmed. Things can be replaced, loved ones can't.

Please continue to pray for all of those affected in the Yazoo area and the entire community as a whole. It is amazing how folks have pulled together to help one another. And for all of my friends that went to my dad's yesterday to help with the clean-up, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. For anyone who wants to help with the efforts, be it monetary, supplies, food, or search and rescue, the Yazoo City church of Christ is being used for distribution, as is the Red Cross, Salvation Army and MEMA.

Ratcliff for Judge...

I debated whether or not to post an image from this "session" and have decided to give in. Steve Ratcliff is an incredibly nice guy who is running for Madison Co. Judge on November 2.  Steve asked me to get a few headshots for him, and of course I said yes!
